FACTS ABOUT CHILDREN AND ALLERGIES
We tend to be predisposed to develop allergies or hypersensitivity. According to statistics, children have a greater risk of developing allergies if their parents or siblings currently have or have previously been diagnosed with an allergic disease (hay fever, asthma, infantile eczema or food allergy). But even if neither parents nor siblings suffer from allergies, children still have a 5% risk of developing allergies.
If your child is at risk of developing allergies it is still impossible to predict what type of allergy he or she might develop. However, you can reduce your child's risk of developing allergies by buying laundry detergent, creams, soap, etc. without perfume.
