The pH value of the skin

THE PH VALUE OF THE SKIN

The pH value of the skin does not fluctuate very much from one part of the body to the next. New scientific research shows that the pH value of the skin of the entire body is an average of 4.7. With a low pH value the skin is able to prevent bacteria from accumulating and develop into eczema or dermatitis.

Even though the skin to a great extent is able to do a lot on its own, it is important that you extend a helping hand, e.g. by choosing lotions and creams that are free from perfume and have a neutral pH value. If your skin is delicate or sensitive you should wash it with care. Do not leave the soap on your skin for too long, rinse well with water, and apply a moisturizer afterwards.
